Company Profile

Welcome to SB Broneske

Vibration & Noise Control

In 1972, our company‘s founder, Erwin Broneske, introduced a revolutionary elastic support system to the German shipbuilding industry. His idea was to isolate diesel engines from the hull structure by way of applying the first modern vibration mounts for the maritime industry. After patenting the world's first shear-proof fix point in 1973, Erwin Broneske soon experienced high international demand. During more than 40 years of existence, this idea has come a long way and today SB Broneske is an integral part of the worldwide shipbuilding industry. Since then, SB Broneske has made several significant contributions to the global shipping industry through some ground-breaking inventions and innovations:

1973: World’s first shear-proof fix point *
1978: World’s first anchorage point *
1984: World’s first fixed water/gas tight deck/bulkhead penetration *
1990: World’s first heat resistant elastomeric based fix point (300°C) *
1993: World’s first flexible rain caps *
1997: FEM analysis of fix points for exhaust pipe system, for engines and for wind turbines **
2006: World’s first Certified Flexible Fire & Water Tight Deck/Bulkhead penetration (MED A-60, US Coastguard, 6m water) *
2008: Advanced labeling system **
2009: Complex installation manuals for elastic systems **
2009: Design office check for exhaust pipe systems **
2013: Customised vibration mounts for retrofit projects for example exhaust cleaning devices or boilers for the weight up to 100 tons *
2013: World's first Certified Flexible Fire & Water Tight Bulkhead penetration (MED A-60, US Coastguard, LR TA and others) *
2015: New Type Approval Certificates for Flexible Fire & Water Tight penetration (DNV GL, Bureau Veritas and ABS) *
2016: Bureau Veritas Certification of the management system according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2015
2017: New business unit LNG *

The idea of taming vibrations and reducing noise levels on board of vessels and contributing to their undisturbed operation is still the heartbeat of SB Broneske and the elastic support of the exhaust pipe system remains our main focus. We consider ourselves as elastic support specialists and our scope and experience ranges from the support of on-board machinery to different on-shore applications such as power plants and wind turbines.

We produce all of our state-of-the-art physical products in our local factory in Quickborn near Hamburg, Germany. This enables us to always meet our own as well as our customer‘s high quality demands. However, our business is not solely based on the unmatched quality of our equipment, it equally depends on our vast expertise in this field which we pass on to our clients in every single project by way of free engineering services. We thus aim to accompany every project as closely as possible from as early as the design of the exhaust system to the final installation of our equipment.
